Self Reliance

I have been thinking about what kind of world I want to create going forward and how I would want to inspire people to create as well. I recently listened to a teacher speak on self responsible and other responsible which I found inspiring.

Typically, you hear conscious people speak about service to self or service to others, and when you are service to others you are on a selfless path to help others with your skills and choices of work you offer. Service to self means you just do things for your own gain. I feel this is an old energy way of thinking.

I have always felt that if I wanted something done, I would figure out how to do it and achieve it. If I had something in my life that I didn’t like, I would work to make changes in my self to create the things I wanted to see. I am very self reliant and self responsible. I can see how my actions cause my reality. This is who I am. As a creator I am driven want to help people and see the world become unified. How can someone be self responsible and make an impact on the world you’re thinking?

I was Inspired by a young individual named Scott Presler who decided to be self responsible go to Baltimore to help clean up some neighborhoods after he became aware of problem with trash. His voice and act of love inspired hundreds of volunteers to help him. Instead of complaining about the citizens that lived there or the city officials who left the garbage he decided to help. They removed over 20 tons of garbage in 7 hours. He has since been back two additional times and local people have taken up the cause to keep it going in their communities. This is a great example of being Self responsible.

Now other responsible think that all their problems and issues need to be solved by someone else. They expect the government or people in charge to fix what ever they don’t like. They sign petitions or hold up signs and point fingers or write nasty comments but choose to wait until someone else fixes what they feel is wrong with their life. That also applies to their relationships and personal lives.

This brings me to a more sensitive subject the environment. Recently there has been a mobilization of our children to become activist for the climate. They gave the students the day off to march for climate change. The young activist shamed the people in charge for not doing enough. This line of thinking makes them then feel like victims that have no power. Shouting for change doesn’t bring it or make it happen. These children feel like it is the governments or adults fault. So as teachers to our children and way showers we should inspire our children to yes care for the environment but to take it to their own lives and communities. How can we as individuals be responsible to our environment? Through the choices we make daily. We need to empower them to see solutions in their lives to make impactful changes. We need to also teach our children to use discernment and look at what is the reason behind the message. Be your own investigator.
